The Jetex motor that would have been fitted to this model is no longer available. The balsa frameworks are built over a plan that is printed at the exact scale of the model, which is in essence a real engineering drawing. Construction of the model from this kit uses the traditional method of "stick and tissue", that consists of a built up balsa wood skeleton (framework), covered with a tissue skin.

This kit is a laser-cut replica of the original KK model of a Hawker Hunter, designed to be powered by a Jetex motor. The single-seat Hunter was introduced to service in 1954 as a manoeuvrable interceptor replaced the first generation of jet-powered fighters in RAF service such as the Gloster Meteor and the de Havilland Venom. In September 1953, a modified prototype of the Hunter broke the world air speed record for jet-powered aircraft, achieving a speed of 727.63 mph (1,171.01 km/h 632.29 kn). The Hawker Hunter was a jet fighter developed by Hawker Aircraft for the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the late 1940s and early 1950s.
